Summary: THE perfect fishing films
Comment: As someone else already mentioned...this is the standard by which all fishing films will be judged.
Its totaly unlike the usual, almost instructional fishing films from the likes of Matt Hayes and John Wilson. Its a whimsical, fairy tale film about two anglers and a fantastic cameraman, editor, director who follows them around. You really feel as if you are on the bank with them and you wish you were there.
My wife, who doesnt fish, loves these films, she says it reminds her of sitting down to bread and dripping on a sunday evening...she's only 35!
My advice...BUY IT, but dont by from here (sorry Amazon) buy it direct from the Passion for Angling website as this finances Hugh Miles (the director/cameraman) future projects. Just google "Passion for Angling".

Summary: Quite simply - THE BEST
Comment: This is the most enjoyable fishing video or series i have ever watched. I have owned this since mid-90's and still love watching it 13 years later! The knowledge, fun and humour makes it thoroughly inspiring and makes you want to get back out onto the bank. Filled with the philosophy of why man loves to fish and reminds you of childhood memories. A must buy!! A+++

Comment: most amazing fishing programme ever. i taped it off tv 12 years ago i still have that same tape to this day and still watch it now as much as i did 12 years ago. bob and chris are superb anglers and hope they would do another series soon.i love watching the wildlife and scenery as much as the fishing.and hope to be as good as them on day in the future thnx tony

Comment: Im 17 years of age and this programme started me fishing its as simple as that before i even lifted a rod i was dreaming of catching that monster brownie!Bob James and Chris Yates are two great anglers and amazing writers they both really are true ambassadors for the sport for every angler
CHRIS YATES - Prefers to fish with antique tackle with a tweed jacket and Sherlock Holmes type hat hes a real old time angler
BOB JAMES - Uses ultra modern tackle and tecniques to his full advantage Bob also clearly loves his sport.
During this whole experience you really get a feeling of calm and relaxation this is mostly due to Benerd Cribbins lending his voice to narrate the programme which really creates a beautiful effect.
weather fly is your thing ( and it is mine ) or course it doesnt matter its all relative because the breathtaking camera work and music catches you straight away the poems by Walton , Cotton or Benerd Venables who also quest stars in one eposode.
I cant tell you how much i love this show it defies explanation quite simply the only fishing programme i will be watching in thirty years guranteed nothing has or can ever touch it.

Summary: "A Passion For Angling" (and Quality)
Comment: I can remember reading many years ago in the angling press about this project. It was destined to be a masterpiece of angling video and did not dissapoint. Although not aimed as an instructional piece you cannot help but gain some useful insight into the the pursuit of carp from two of the country's most respected anglers (Chris yates & Bob James). There enthusiasm, respect and borderline eccentricity regarding their pursuit comes across clearly throughout the entire production. A totally fitting, tranquil soundtrack combined with the narration of Bernard Cribbins makes this unmissable. I should also add that the filming is of the ultimate quality, filmed by Hugh Miles of "Flight of the Condor" fame.
